Fair Trade Coffee Project

Coffee Beans

Did you know that for only approximately 85 cents an ounce of coffee beans (whole or ground) you can drink great organic and fair trade coffee, support coffee growers directly, and contribute to agencies that provide relief and encourage economic development locally and throughout the world?  All Saints in Big Sky, a shared ministry of the Episcopal and Lutheran (ELCA) churches, continues involvement in the Fair Trade Coffee Project.

Fair trade is a system that guarantees a fair price to the farmer who grows the coffee, including a minimum price when market prices are low.  The coffees sold by All Saints come from cooperatives that are owned and governed by and for the farmers.  The benefits of trade actually reach the farmers and their communities.  Fair trade far surpasses the temporary assistance provided to farmers through charity.

Coffees supporting Episcopal Relief and Development and Lutheran World Relief are available for sale each summer at the All Saints in Big Sky booth at the Wednesday evening Big Sky Farmer’s Market in Town Center (5:00 – 8:00 PM.) Many organic and fair trade blends are available for sale, including regular and decaf, whole bean and drip grind.

Come visit us at the Farmer’s Market and purchase some coffee, as well as Fair Trade tea, olive and chocolate! You’ll be glad you did.
